Dear District 6860 Rotarians,
This is the year to "Make Dreams Real" for children around the world! Our district is
organized in such a way that we can make a difference in each community. Each club,
through Rotary International, is the venue where we can focus on the needs of others,
plan and implement programs that are needed within our communities, and practice
"Service Above Self".
R.I President D.K Lee has challenged each district to increase membership by 10%, plan activities to meet the RI Gates Foundation Polio Challenge of $1000 per club each year for three years, and to affect health and literacy to change the quality of life for children.
Our district leadership team has proposed six goals for our district this year that parallel
the long range plan and fall within the international goals set by RI President DK Lee.
Those goals are to improve the health of children, improve literacy, increase membership
growth, succeed with the Polio Challenge, meet the "Every Rotarian Every Year" challenge
for The Rotary Foundation, and improve the district's communication and marketing.
Make Dreams Real! Mary Jean
